Description:

The Víðavangshlaupíð is one of the most popular and crowded 5 km races held in Iceland, as the race is held in the heart of Reykjavík, where the route runs through the city center. The race was first held in 1916 and has been held every year since, most often on the first day of Summer, except for 2021 when the race was held in May due to COVID restrictions.
